JourneyFed offers individualized lactation care through in-home and virtual visits. 

Services are designed to support both parent and baby across different stages of the feeding journey, with care that is practical, compassionate, and responsive to changing needs.

In-Home Lactation Support

In-home visits provide hands-on support to assess feeding, address challenges, and build confidence in your own space. Visits include maternal and infant assessment, observation of feeding, and individualized guidance based on your goals and your baby’s needs. Visits typically last 90-120 minutes.

In-Home Lactation Support May Include

  • Infant weight assessment when appropriate

  • Feeding observation and latch support

  • Personalized feeding plan and education

Support for Common Infant Feeding Challenges

In-home visits provide hands-on support to assess feeding, address challenges, and build confidence in your own space. Visits include maternal and infant assessment, observation of feeding, and individualized guidance based on your goals and your baby’s needs.

Feeding Concerns Families Commonly Experience

  • Slow or inconsistent infant weight gain

  • Nipple pain or discomfort during feeding

  • Difficulty with latch or positioning

  • Milk supply concerns (low supply, oversupply, or uncertainty)

  • Suspected or diagnosed tongue ties

  • Infant oral dysfunction or body tightness affecting feeding

  • Pumping questions and building a pumping routine

  • Preparing for or returning to work while feeding your baby

Virtual Consultations

Virtual consultations are best suited for support related to pumping routines, returning to work, and general feeding questions that do not require in-person assessment. Virtual care is available statewide in Virginia and beyond.

Self-Pay Rates

Initial Home Visit |  $175

This is the first visit working together, prenatal or postpartum.

Follow-Up Home Visit |  $145
Virtual Visit (40 minutes) |  $75

Not applicable for all questions or concerns
